Composer: David Breeze Title: Short ride into virtual reality Instrumentation: Flexible Duration: Variable Difficulty: Moderate Technical Issues: The only specified instrument is a bell (pitched or unpitched) which signals that the end of the piece is approaching. However, a full keyboard may be required to ensure that all of the pitches, particularly the lowest, are covered. Programme note: This piece is a kind of musical roller coaster. Any number of instruments may jump on or off the ride at any time provided all the pitches are played by the ensemble. This allows for a considerable degree of flexibility of instrumentation but will also depend on the range of each instrument and the desired timbre or colour of the performance.
