Composer: Andrew Melvin Title: Rondo for Africa Instrumentation: Any pitched instruments Duration: Variable, up to 2 minutes Difficulty: Basic amateur Technical Issues: This is one of a series of pieces of postcard music published by the Forum London Composers' Group. With larger groups, a conductor may be needed. Programme note: This piece was written in 1995 for the flautists Sarah Robins and Nathan Thompson, who gave its first performance in Tanzania. The piece was originally written for two flutes, but can be played by any other suitable instruments. Andrew Melvin works as a composer, pianist and music teacher in schools and adult education colleges. He received his musical training at the Royal Academy of Music, Cambridge University and the Guildhall School of Music. Availability: Forum London Composers' Group |
