Composer: Frederic Rzewski Title: Les Moutons de Panurge Instrumentation: Flexible - no restrictions Duration: Variable Difficulty: Moderate to harder Technical Issues: The musicians are given an extended melody. with the instruction to play it repeatedly, loudly , and without stopping or faltering, subtracting notes from the start with each repeat. They will all become lost. Non musicians are invited to make any sound in a specified rhythm, they may follow their leader, or not. Programme note: The piece consists of a melody for instrumentalists, and a rhythm for 'non musicians'. The intention is that both groups become inextricably lost, or 'leave home', depending on how you look at it. Availability: Not known |
