Composer: James Harrison Title: Stillicide Instrumentation: Piano trio - vln, vlc, pno Duration: 3 minutes Difficulty: Moderate Technical Issues: Appart from the piano having three staves to play from in the second movement, and 1/4 bars which should be repeated several times, the piece is straightforward. Programme note: Stillicide...? I recently stumbled across this curious word and have yet to find anyone else who already knows its definition. Might it refer to 'death by non-motion', 'the motion of a drop of water', or something else entirely...? The piece was commissioned for the Chamber Music Exchange by Thalia Myers.
