Composer: Colin Johnson Title: Three on the floor Instrumentation: Vln Vlc Pno Duration: 5 minutes Difficulty: Moderate Technical Issues: The opening fragment is repeated and developed for most of the piece. The final two short sections include one where the piece is slowed down enormously, and a sparse piano solo. Programme note: The piece derives its basic material from a melodic fragment heard at the beginning of the piece, which was drawn from the ringing tone of a mobile phone.
