Composer: Alan Taylor Title: Midnight Abstract Instrumentation: Flute, violin, clarinet, cello, percussion, piano - or larger open scored ensemble. Duration: 5 minutes Difficulty: Harder Live recordings: Vamos, London, 2004 Ensamble Rosario, Argentina, 2003 Technical Issues: Each player needs to count hard, put their head down, and ignore the others. The percussion part should be played on a drum kit if possible. Programme note: The sketch of the opening this piece was written at 3am in a wakeful period during a night of disturbed sleep. Much of the rest of the work on the piece was done late at night. I have no idea what the piece is about. Availability: from Alan Taylor or from his SibeliusMusic home page where you can view, play, and print the score. |
