Music archive entry

While composing Trump!, I imagined a lively game of Spades in which the players spontaneously form alliances in order to better their odds of winning. These alliances take the form of duets and trios, often to the counterpoint of the chattering of the other players. The listener will hear an occasional solo effort, or group tutti, that is punctuated every now and then by five emphatically accented beats that shout out T-R-U-M-P!.
