To communicate, or not?

The piece is written in sections of two alternating types. There are slow lyrical sections where each player has a short phrase to be played when the player feels it is right. These alternate with fast sections where each player plays independently of the others, and their music is in different time signatures and keys from the others. The piece will sound different each time it is played.
