Composer: Howard Skempton Title: Lullaby Instrumentation: Clarinet, cello Duration: Variable, but short Difficulty: Moderate amateur, clarinet part easier than cello part. Technical Issues: The cello plays a varying but repeated figure for the entire piece, and the clarinet plays a melody over it for the central section. Since the piece has no dynamic or tempo markings, the performers will need to work out the expressive aspects of the performance for themselves. Programme note: Performed by the London Chamber Group at BMIC, December 1996 Availability: from Oxford University Press |
