Composer: Ken Edwards Title: Ornettology Instrumentation: 2Vln Vla Vlc Duration: 8 minutes, 3 movements Difficulty: Moderate to difficult Technical Issues: The first movement has no time signature or bars, and performers move at their own pace - players must respond to each other in terms of tempo, dynamics, placement of notes etc. Second movement is in strict time, as fast as technically feasible. Third movement takes off from a tune from the 1960 Ornette Coleman album, 'Change of the Century'. articles.
