Programme note:

Cat Suite is a piece for flexible ensemble, written in several short movements, which span a 'day in the life' of a cat. The cat goes through waking, exploring, precariously walking a fence, and catnapping in between. Finally it decides to go wild, usually just as the owner is about to go to bed. The ensemble parts are named after the parts of the cat, i.e. meow, cat's purr, cat's paws, and cat's tail. I had the idea of writing it several years ago, but did not come up with the actual music until I had been playing with the COMA South ensemble for several months. It wiill, hopefully, be as entertaining to play as to listen to.
