Composer: Chris van Dam Title: It wasn't on purpose Instrumentation: Violin and Cello Duration: 5 minutes Difficulty: Good amateur Technical Issues: Interesting rhythms Programme note: Chris van Dam studied musicology at the University of Amsterdam. He has worked in Holland principally as a composer and performer of blues, funk and rock, turning his hand to string writing partly at the suggestion of tonight's performers. Since living in London in recent years he has pursued a highly-focused interest in traditional Romanian music, rapidly becoming one of London's few cimbalom players.
