Music archive entry

Metalwinds is a piece for standard woodwind quintet. The piece takes the listener on a journey to the outer regions of the classical world. The music starts as a contemporary concert work, but clearly has an outside influence. Fragments of specifically "heavy metal" music (hence the title of the work) are combined into a piece that still seems rooted in the classical world. Rather than the two types of music contrasting each other, there is a definite blending, creating a unique type of music.
