This piece began as a sketch for a workshop with Michael Finnissy, who described the opening as “like watching cells divide.” After completion it was performed several times by the London Chamber Group. It was extensively re-written in 2011 as a piece for modern dance, and re-written again later in the same year. Hopefully it has now reached its final form.
