The Irish poet, W B Yeats, is buried in Drumcliffe, Co. Sligo, amid a landscape of bare mountains blasted by Atlantic winds. He instructed that the following lines from his poem <i>Under Ben Bulben</i> be carved on his tombstone:
Cast a cold Eye
On Life, on Death.
Horseman, pass by.
Instrumentation: 2 oboes, bassoon, 2 horns, strings
Instrumental substitutions are acceptable - flutes for oboes, clarinet doubling bass clarinet for bassoon, saxophones for horns.
