16-line wind orchestra
16 minutes
Difficulty level: Good amateur or student
There are three movements to this Symphony, marked respectively: Agitated, then Lyrical; Solemn but Gentle; and Jagged, then Quirky. These titles are intended as a guide to interpretation by the players. As to what the music is about, I'll leave you to make up your own mind. The piece was written for Bloomsbury Wind Ensemble.
The instrumentation includes the following parts, and there can be more than one player on each part. While the higher numbered parts are a little less challenging, there are no big contrasts in technical difficulty between the parts. Flutes 1, 2 and 3 Oboes 1 and 2 Clarinets in Bb 1, 2, 3, and 4 Bass Clarinet Alto Saxophones 1 and 2 Tenor Saxophone Baritone Saxophone Bassoons 1 and 2
