This piece consists of three separate movements, each of which repeats and develops a mechanical musical idea to produce a musical drama. I hope that I have brought these little machines to life in doing so. It was written for Julia White, oboe and Amy Sims, cello. The movements may be performed separately, but if performed together they should be played in the order shown.
