These pieces were written for and with pianist Catarina Domenici. We met over a discussion of composer-performer collaboration, and worked together on the writing of these pieces together over a period of 15 months. Work on the pieces took place in parallel with a discussion of the nature of such joint working in both theoretical and practical terms. Although I have described myself as the composer of the pieces, they reflect her extensive input, and would be markedly different had they been written without a performer's involvement, or if working with a different performer. The three pieces are marked: Scherzo, Espressivo, and Moto Imperpetuo.
