About the LCCO - we are a unique orchestra, with the role of playing music by developing composers and giving them feedback. We were recently heard on Radio 3 as part of Making Music's Play to the Nation. The composer of a piece written for and recorded by us won the Making Music category in the British Composers Awards in 2008.

The LCCO's activities

Each year we:
  • Run workshops for composers
  • Hold a Composition Competition for Student Composers
  • Give a concert of the best pieces we have workshopped in the year.
  • Make recordings

Piece of the Year Competition

This is our annual competition for student composers.
