CHAMBER ORCHESTRA WORKSHOP

Deadline passed. Look our for details of the 2009 competition next autumn.

We have received scores for chamber symphony for a workshop to be held on July 5th 2008 with leading composer Andrew Poppy, and possible performance later in the year. The call was open to all composers who would be able attend workshops in London in June 2008 to discuss their score, and the July workshop. There is a fee for taking part.

We are a good quality amateur orchestra, of single wind and brass, plus strings, percussion, and piano. We do projects for Forum London Composers Group.

Deadlines and process:

  • Scores submitted by March 28th 2008
  • March/April selection of scores by a panel of LCCO players
  • April 30th - deadline for submission of parts
  • June - workshop on notation, score presentation, and writing for amateur orchestra, with Alan Taylor - for all those who submit scores
  • July 5th - workshop performance of the selected pieces, with Andrew Poppy leading a discussion on the pieces
  • Later in 2008 - concert including selected pieces from the workshop
